The dedication and effort of our firefighters and emergency services has residents hopeful that the worse is behind us.
Our hearts go out to West Kelowna residents that have loss their homes or family pets. We are thankful there have been no fatalities reported. This again is due to the professional and speedy efforts of the emergency services and local RCMP.
The Shannon Lake Neighbourhood Association (SLNA) will be partnering with several community service clubs as well as other neighbourhood associations such as Casa Loma, Lakeview Heights, Glenrosa and Gellatly Bay to plan a Firefighter and Support Workers Appreciation Event in September. While our focus remains on the safety of our residents and their properties we look forward the officially thanking all the men and women on the front line of this crisis.
A Firefighter and Support workers Appreciation Event is in the early planning stages for the end of September. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with the Appreciation Effort. https://www.gofundme.com/f/west-kelowna-firefighting-support-gratitude-event
