The Shannon Lake Neighbourhood Association (SLNA) is pleased to announce the support of the United Way at its upcoming Breakfast With Santa event through the Local Love Grant.
The United Way and the SLNA share a common vision of a healthy, caring, inclusive community. The Local Love Grants Funds provide micro-grants to neighbours working on volunteer projects.
Magda Kapp, specialist, emergency response & partnerships, explained some of the programs the United Way are involved with, "Some of the United Way's involvements include the Better At Home senior program, the End Homelessness program, and the BC211.ca Helpline Services, that assists in connecting people with community resources.
The Breakfast With Santa event, scheduled for Sunday, December 1st offers an affordable family activity including a full breakfast menu, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and presents for youth and children in attendance.
