The Shannon Lake Neighbourhood Association (SLNA) has always been more than just an organization—it’s a reflection of the people who live, work, and care deeply about this beautiful community. At the heart of everything the SLNA does are its dedicated volunteers, neighbours who generously give their time, energy, and resources to make Shannon Lake a vibrant, welcoming place for everyone.
From organizing community events and seasonal celebrations to advocating for local improvements, SLNA volunteers are the driving force behind our neighbourhood spirit. Their efforts create opportunities for connection, belonging, and fun. Many of the SLNA’s successes have come directly from the commitment of these incredible individuals.
Volunteer Spotlights

Adam Sancewicz - A proud Shannon Lake resident of more than seven years, Adam lives with his fiancée and their two children, Sofia and Dominik. They cherish the balance of family life and community connection that Shannon Lake provides. As the owner and manager of Prime Pillars Management, Adam helps entrepreneurs and businesses launch and grow—and he’s also been instrumental in building the SLNA website, donating his expertise to strengthen our digital presence.

Harjinder Kaur & son Aksh - Harjinder and her family moved from India to Kamloops in 2021 and made West Kelowna their permanent home in July 2024 when her husband, Dr. Gagandeep Bangar, opened LakeCity Animal Hospital. Since then, they’ve embraced life in Shannon Lake, describing the community as warm and welcoming. Harjinder and Aksh brought their energy and smiles to our Westside Daze Kids Zone SLNA booth, helping create a fun and memorable experience for local families.

Les Wagman - After 65 years in Regina and a fulfilling 40-year career in media, Les and his wife made Shannon Lake their retirement home in 2017. They enjoy family life with two daughters, six grandchildren, and a cat who rules the house. Les has been a longtime volunteer with SLNA, lending his time to fire mitigation projects and family events such as Breakfast with Santa. “The Shannon Lake neighbourhood offers everything we love—abundant year-round fresh produce, recreational opportunities like hiking and biking, world-class wineries, and a climate that encourages healthy outdoor living.”

Craig Wiggins - Craig and his wife Valerie moved to Shannon Lake in 2016, where he’s combined his love of nature and photography with community involvement. Craig served 31 years as a Flight Engineer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Now retired Craig shares his passion for photography by donating stunning images of our neighbourhood for the SLNA website. These photos remind us daily of the natural beauty surrounding us. Craig also enjoys his role as a player assistant at the Shannon Lake Golf Course.

Tony Rippon - A resident of Shannon Lake for the past seventeen years, Tony and his wife Catherine raised their two daughters here. Tony is the owner and manager of Okanagan Ceiling Refinishers (OCR) - specializing in drywall and ceiling refinishing. Tony and OCR have been generous sponsors of the SLNA and its website. In addition, Tony has served as an SLNA director for the past five years, helping guide the association’s growth and success.
