About Shannon Lake and the Neighbourhood Association
The Shannon Lake Neighbourhood is a the geographical area surrounding Shannon Lake in West Kelowna, B.C.. The neighbourhood is geographically central in the West Kelowna District Municipality. The neighbourhood is anchored by Shannon Lake. Shannon Lake is a small but prolific fishing lake which has a regional park on the south shore and a golf course on the east shore. There is a centrally located elementary school with sports fields, a playground, and tennis courts attached. And there are several interconnected sub-divisions generally featuring mountain or lake views, mature trees, underground services, street lighting, and curbing. The neighbourhood is very recreation friendly with several small parks and walking trails enjoyed by the local residents.
The primary goal of the Shannon Lake Neighbourhood
Associaton (SLNA) is to make our neighbourhood a better place to live and raise
families:
- to protect and enhance property values
- to advocate
improvement of transportation, streets, safety, and public spaces
- to
promote public safety and help reduce crime
- to provide a voice and to
communicate
- to maintain neighbourhood information
